Pens Paper Inks...Whatever!: Labor Day Giveaway and Review - Hero 616

Pens Paper Inks...Whatever!: Labor Day Giveaway and Review - Hero 616

I consider Hero pens as living fossils, since they are really the long extinct Parker 51s and 61s,though  made to lower standards, but working equally well. I don't own the Hero 616, but I use the Hero 331 fountain pen which is available everywhere in Sri Lanka, where I live. Incidently these Hero pens have been around a very long time in Asia and appreciated for their very low prices and reliability. A Hero 331 costs a little more than a dollar in Sri Lanka and they are not yet fashionable here as very few people know that they work well on Moleskine paper. perhaps this story will  give you an idea  of the reliability of Hero pens:  I recently washed and filled a fountain pen which had not been used  for more than a decade and a half, though exposed to a tropical environment,  and it did work perfectly. It was part of a desk set presented to me consisting of 2 Wing Sung (part of the hero company) fountain pens  mounted on a green onyx block..... what more can be said.
